This year the challenge was to showcase the previous award winners and also highlight this years winners. The design of the stage led to the creation of custom cut out letters in the BCIT logo shape. There were 6 flanking columns for the current winners and 2 IMAG screens on the outside of it all.

Maybe we showed off a bit, but the introduction video that launched the event was where the audience got a sense of the impact of the screen. The rest of the night was to focus on the winners and the incredible things they have achieved, so the motion graphics were much more tailored to them.

After Effects was used to create the motion graphics and Dataton WATCHOUT was used on site for the projection mapping and the content control.

Projection Mapping

Here you can see the custom BCIT cutout letters and projection graphics. There was a lot of coordination between trades people, the technical crew, and the motion graphic designer to make this work.

Event Welcome

As a presenter takes the stage the outside screens become the IMAG for the audience viewers in the back of the room. Subtle movement of graphics happens on the columns and the BCIT letters.
